WELCOME to one of America's most unique Divinity
Schools! If you sense that God is directing you to further your
ministry education, it is my hope that one of our programs will
be the answer to the question of "how" and "where" you will
begin. At Master's, your home or office can become the
classroom from which you will link to your school through either
the Internet or the postal system. If you are the kind of
person who likes to join with fellow students from time-to-time,
you will also have an opportunity to elect to study through
short group learning seminars. |

OUR
NAME tells a lot about us. In John 13:13 Jesus said, "Ye
call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am." That is
why it is, Master's International School of Divinity. The
terms "Divinity" and "School" make a clear statement related to the
core of our mission and purpose. "Divinity" is defined as,
theology, religious study, and "School" is defined as,
educate, teach, prepare, instruct. This is why our name clearly
expresses that we are an institution belonging to the Master,
existing for the purpose of educating, teaching, preparing, and
instructing within the disciplines of theology and religious study.
IN AN
HISTORICAL WAY, the term Divinity School reflects an old
and distinguished tradition. The Editors of the Dictionary of
Christianity in America noted: "In preparing for the protestant
ministry, [individuals] might study divinity under a learned
minister or theologian. When Protestant seminaries arose in America
in the early nineteenth century, these institutions were frequently
called divinity schools." Another historical influence that has
helped to shape Master's International School of Divinity comes from
the sixteenth century extension of the reformation movement which
stressed: the proper separation of church and state; congregational
autonomy; the true church consisting of the born-again; Scripture
alone as the primary authority; and the right of the church to
exercise control over its own educational programs. At Master's, we
have connected these traditions with an Open University concept of
distance education that recognizes the practical requirements of
continuing ministry training in today's world.
IN A
CONTEMPORARY WAY, we are an International School of Divinity.
Our current study body comes from seventy different world areas
(from American Samoa to Zimbabwe). One of the reasons for the
internationally appreciated value of this form of education is that
the open learning method allows you set your own timetable around
the way you live, making it possible for you to study without
sacrificing work or family commitments. It also makes it possible
to take a single course or an entire degree program based upon your
desires and needs.
OUR
DEGREE PROGRAMS
will appeal to mature and self-disciplined individuals who are
primarily interested in the everyday realities of genuine Christian
ministry. This
system of study is not geared for the education of young
people, which is the method employed by most colleges and
universities. That educational system is known as pedagogy,
and focuses on how youthful and immature minds learn. The
system employed at Master's is technically known as andragogy,
and focuses on how and why mature and experienced adults prefer to
pursue additional learning. We are a Divinity School
specifically designed for the adult learner. In addition,
because we are a Christ-centered and Bible-based School of Divinity,
we will likewise appeal to those who are most comfortable with the
historic beliefs of the evangelical community. Our core
commitment to the Old and New Testament Scriptures is reflected well
in the Bible inscription of Sir Walter Scott.

THE CHURCH
IS CALLING FOR LEADERSHIP
and those who meet the challenge to serve on the spiritual
battlefield of our day need every advantage available. The worldly
pressures being exerted upon the Church call for spiritually and
doctrinally sound leaders. Continuing ministry education must be
rooted in the Word of God; empowered by the Spirit of God; and
dedicated to lifting up the Son of God! Therefore, we believe that
ministry training is not merely an option, but a serious
responsibility. If you believe such a responsibility has led you to
consider Master's, we would very much appreciate an opportunity to
present you with additional information.
Thank you
and may God bless you,
Dennis D. Frey, Th.D., President
