LAW ENFORCEMENT
CHAPLAINCY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
Are you a pastor
with a heart for your community beyond your local church?
Law
Enforcement Chaplaincy may be the ideal opportunity for
you to make a real difference in one of the most important
functions of your city. We all depend on law
enforcement for our safety and security. Perhaps now
is the time for you to consider what you can do to give
back to those who do so much for us, while at the same time
helping them in their incredibly important calling.

Master's
Certificate Program in Law Enforcement Chaplaincy will
prepare you to serve in this extremely important ministry
to your community. This one-of-a-kind program has
been developed by Col. Dale F. Hansen, one of America's
most distinguished military and law enforcement chaplains.
Col. Hansen is a recently retired U.S. Army chaplain;
current F.B.I. chaplain; retired chaplain of the Phoenix, AZ
Police Department; and ministers in private practice as a
marriage and family therapist while also serving as
pastoral counselor and chaplain for the Cart T. Hayden
Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Phoenix. Col.
Hansen is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.
and D.Min.) and also holds a Ph.D. in family counseling
from Trinity Theological Seminary.
As the
founder and lead faculty member for Master's Certificate
in Law Enforcement Chaplaincy, Dr. Hansen knows what law
enforcement agencies need and require of those who wish to
serve in this critical area of community ministry.
He has developed a program that meets the real-life
requirements of those who feel called to serve as a
chaplain to their local, state or federal law enforcement agency.
The program
consists of four courses. The first two are the
foundational courses that will prepare you to serve as a
chaplain. The other two course are intended to enhance your training as a law
enforcement chaplain.

The two
primary courses are:
Chaplaincy in Law Enforcement CHP-1501
The purpose of this course is to introduce the practitioner to differences
and commonalities of Chaplains in Law Enforcement ministries and the
different aspects of how Chaplains work in those organizations.
Constitutionality of the Chaplaincy CHP-1502
This course will introduce and expose the student to a genuinely
biblical study of spiritual warfare within the context of the Christian
life so that they acquire a basic and introductory knowledge regarding the
nature of spiritual warfare.
The purpose of this course is to introduce chaplaincy as a ministry
and the right to practice the free exercise of religion according to the
Constitution of the United States of America.
The two
other courses are:
Apologetics AP-401*
The purpose of this course is to introduce the nature and
contents of Apologetics so that the student can identify
key challenges to Christianity and describe ways of
responding to rival truth claims.
Fundamentals of Spiritual Warfare SW-201*
This course will introduce and expose the student to a
genuinely biblical study of spiritual warfare within the
context of the Christian life so that they acquire a basic
and introductory knowledge regarding the nature of
spiritual warfare.

Important Note: The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy
Certificate Program may not be for everyone.
Individuals hoping to serve as a chaplain should be
advised that while some communities may have unique
opportunities, most law enforcement agencies expect
or require that those wishing to serve as chaplains be
pastors or staff pastors of a local church (or retired),
and be properly ordained or licensed by a recognized
church or denomination. Please check with the head
of the law enforcement agency you are considering. |
