MASTER'S IS AN INDEPENDENT NON-CAMPUS BASED DIVINITY SCHOOL  As an independent Divinity School, we serve both ministerial candidates and those already serving in ministry from a wide range of churches, denominations and connections; offering a practical non-campus alternative to a traditional and more collegiate campus-based school.  Master's provides both online courses and short intensive group learning seminars, making it possible to earn a Divinity School degree without being required to uproot your family in order to complete your education.  We are a Divinity School for working adults; people seeking to train for ministry; people seeking to gain additional training and skills for a more effective ministry, and seasoned veterans of Christian ministry who have a desire to continue or expand their ministry education in a direct and practical manner.

OUR HISTORY  Master's was founded in 1999 by the leadership team of Christian Education Enterprises (CEE, Inc.).  CEE, Inc. has been providing learning programs to theological education institutions since 1979.  The Master's Touch Self-study Library was founded in 1996 as an Internet delivered learning center providing free theological distance education courses to students around the world.  Master's Divinity School and Master's Graduate School of Divinity were to founded in 1999 as a result of the success of the Master's Touch Self-study Library.  By 2005, Master's was providing academic programs to students in seventy world areas.  In September of 2006, in order to keep pace with the changing nature of theological distance education, the institution was renamed as Master's International School of Divinity .

THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AT MASTER'S ARE BUILT AROUND THE OPEN UNIVERSITY CONCEPT OF DISTANCE EDUCATION  The Open University (also known as open learning) concept can be summed up in the following statements: Take down all artificially imposed barriers to education; open learning opportunities to any qualified individual by removing as far as is reasonable unrealistic entrance requirements; wherever practical eliminate mandatory classroom attendance and allow students to study from anywhere at any time; use any form of technology and practical method that will facilitate learning; eliminate unrealistic time constraints and let students study at their own pace; and overall, promote education for adult learners as an "activity" that can be accomplished through many different venues.  That is, wherever possible, take the school to the student, rather than forcing the student to come to the school.
